Before you try to find yourself ways on how you can defeat panic attacks, it is imperative that you first have the right understanding as to what a panic attacks is. As defined, panic attack is the sudden feeling of tremendous fear and terror which is accompanied by symptoms such as rapid and abnormal heartbeat, weakness, clamminess, difficulty in breathing, losing control to name a few.

Normally, the first attack that one will experience can last for several minutes and can occur without any warning whatsoever. Such attacks could occur even while you are performing your day to day activities such as when you are driving, taking a walk in the park, watching a movie and the like. What makes these attacks really troublesome is the fact that once you have experienced one, there is a high probability that it could happen again. In fact, the fear of having another attack will make you even more susceptible to experiencing it once again. Many of those who suffer from it feel as if they are going to have a heart attack, go insane and also die, but in all actuality, they are in really perfect health.

Overcoming panic attacks and learning how to control panic attacks is a bit difficult to do at first, but once you get the hang of it, it would be easier for you to manage one or even possibly prevent it from occurring. The first thing you need to master is how to confront your anxiety and fears peacefully. You need to admit to yourself that you have a fear and you need to confront them directly. Never let your fears over power you because the instance that you give in to it, the attacks that you will have will hit you a lot faster and twice as intense as they were before. The idea here is to face your fears rather than resist them. In time, you will become less stressful and such action will also reduce the fear and anxiety that you feel.
